Garnishment is the process by which a creditor seizes
a person's wages or other financial accounts. Once
a creditor sues, and obtains a judgment, it can
use various means to collect the judgment. In Ohio,
a wage garnishment is quite severe as the involuntary
check seizures will continue until the debt is satisfied.
Similarly, an account attachment can be financially
ruinous, and start an avalanche of bounced checks,
and the problems which always follow.

The automatic stay against further collection of
debts is immediately imposed by a Chapter 13 filing.
Even though a certain creditor may have a judgment
against you, this creditor must wait to be paid
along with your other creditors. Thus, your wages
will return to their normal level, and all financial
accounts will henceforth be protected.
